Sunday School at College Hill is Christ-centered and includes instruction in Bible stories and hands-on activities to aid the children in learning.
Our young children grow in faith as Bible lessons are shared to build the foundation of God’s love and forgiveness in Christ. Art activities, quiet play, and lessons provide the opportunity to enrich each child’s learning.
1st – 6th Grade
Our lessons provide an opportunity to learn about Christ and His Word for us in both the Old and New Testaments. Working together as a group, we apply both the Law and the Gospel while traveling from the Tower of Babel to the Day of Pentecost. God’s love and forgiveness will be incorporated into the building of the Tower and ending with the display of the sound of the mighty rushing wind the disciples experienced. The goal is to teach the children about the unity that Christ gives to His Church through the Gospel for all people of every nation and language. Interest centers (various choices for the children to research and learn more about the Bible stories) are used to enrich the students’ learning.
Sunday School Offering
Each semester we save our funds to donate to a designated mission or charity. During the semester, we try to learn more about our selected project. We help the children become aware of others’ needs and encourage them to give and to pray for others.
Last semester, we raised money for Hope for the Destitute in Kenya, Africa. Hope for the Destitute shows mercy to orphans and widows by supplying basic needs and teaching the faith.
Our next project includes raising funds for Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca (the camp of the Iowa District East).
