In Sunday School today: On this last Sunday of the spring quarter of
Sunday School, students studied "John's Vision of Heaven." Those who
believe that salvation has been accomplished by the all-availing sacrifice
of Jesus' blood on the cross will bear the name of Christ, written on their
forehead in Holy Baptism, and will have the right to the tree of life.
Consider discussing, "How does John describe heaven? How is the
promise of eternal life in heaven ours?"
Building Healthy Families: Do your children know you love them
unconditionally? Do your children know that you love them no matter
what? Do they know you love them just because they're your son or
daughter? Or do they think you only love them when they do something
outstanding: get all A's on a report card, hit a homerun, win a tennis
championship or get the lead in the school play. Take away the
pressure. Help your child understand that you will always love them
simply because of who they are, not because of what they do or
accomplish. Show them that a parent's love is unconditional and
unending, just like your Father's love for you! Lutheran Family Service of

Ladies join us this Thursday, June 4, as Mark Welty has agreed to share his
talents at the organ and knowledge of music with us. Mark will select a
composer/music piece and play it for us giving us details regarding the
selection. It will be interesting and relaxing. You won't want to miss.
Devotions will be led by Erna Blankenhagen. Flora Brewster will be our
hostess and that will be a treat. Once again we will enjoy one another's
company. See you on Thursday at 7 p.m. at LWML/ Evening Guild.
Food Bank Need is Strong-How Can We Help?? It is customary for
members of College Hill Lutheran Church to provide a strong support
financially for the Food Bank. Our drive, usually held in March and April,
was very weakly supported this year. At the Board of Directors meeting it
was decided to repeat the appeal to the congregation for donations for
the Food Bank in the month of June. We are targeting June 14 but any
gift that month will be included in the donation sent to the Food Bank on
our behalf. It is important to remember that a single dollar donation
results in the purchase funds of thirteen dollars for the Food Bank. Just
think that's a return of $13 for each $1 donated. Please check your June
budget and make a contribution to this worthy cause. Simply include the
gift in your regular envelope, making certain to note it's destination on
the outside of your envelope.
