message for next Sunday is "This Is Love" Speaker: Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus. Does
your mother love you? Jesus loves you more! Has your mother sacrificed
for you? Jesus died and rose to redeem you from sin and eternal death!
(1 John 4:10)

Woman to Woman can be heard Sundays at 7:00 a.m. on KXEL, Waterloo
1540AM. The message for next Sunday is That's Funny, Mom!
Motherhood is full of ups and downs; it's important to focus on more of
the ups. Discover the importance of humor in motherhood--being funny
with your kids, seeing the humor in your own mistakes, and seeing the
humor in your kids themselves.

The May Newsletter is available for you to pick up today. They are on the
table in the gathering area. Be sure to pick up yours, as well as one of
someone who isn't here that day so that you can deliver it to them this
week.

Today is the day we say good-bye to the students for the year with
our annual Farewell potluck. Stay for the meal and a chance to
wish our students well as they head out for the summer.

Ladies this Thursday will be a special program night as Mark Welty
has agreed to share his talents at the organ and knowledge of
music with us. Mark will select a composer/music piece and play it
for us giving us details regarding the selection. It will be interesting
and relaxing. You won't want to miss. Devotions will be led by Erna
Blankenhagen. Flora Brewster will be our hostess and that will be a
treat. Once again we will enjoy one another's company. See you
on Thursday at 7 pm at LWML/ Evening Guild.

The Family of Danielle Lilleskov would like to invite the members of
College Hill to celebrate her confirmation. An open house will be
held in her honor on Sunday, May 17th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at
2805 Edgewood Drive, Cedar Falls.

Benefit Dinner, May 16, Faith Lutheran Church, 1555 W. Ridgeway
Ave., (by the big Rock), Waterloo. Roast Pork, potatoes,
vegetable, salad and dessert will be served. Free Will Offering.
Proceeds, matched by Thrivent, are to help Allan & Sylvia
Nordbrock with expenses incurred while at Mayo Clinic for Sylvia's
cancer treatment.

Stewardship Thought: 1 John 3:16-24: This text reminds us Christian
stewards of the truth that we show our love for God by showing
love to those around us, especially those in need. May God help
us to always be generous in our acts of love!

In Sunday School today: The story of "Paul and Timothy" served as
the focus of Sunday School today. Just as many in Paul's day
thought, we think we must do something to be saved. Yet the
answer is always Jesus, Jesus, only Jesus, whose resurrection from
the dead sealed our salvation and absolved the world. Questions
for discussion include "How are you like Timothy?" and "How are
we saved from our sin?"

Outreach: John 10:11-18: Jesus taught His disciples and us that He
is the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for the sheep. What
good news for our comfort and for us to share with those who do
not yet believe in our Good Shepherd Jesus!

Building Healthy Families: Thinking about sending flowers to your
mom for Mother's Day next Sunday? Good idea! You can make
her day, communicate a Christian message of love and hope,
and support the ministry of LFS to Iowa families all at the same
time! Visit the LFS website at www.LFSiowa.org, click on the
"Mother's Day Flowers" link, and you will be connected with a
nationwide flower delivery service called Christian Flower. When
you order flowers here, the LFS ministry will receive 10% of your
purchase to support their work. Your LFS counselors will thank you,
the families who receive help through LFS' ministry will thank you,
and your mom will thank you! Lutheran Family Service of Iowa 800-

Life Quote: Jesus alone has the power to heal what we have
buried and tried to hide for so long. Remember that Jesus Christ
defeated Satan with the cross. Because of that, we do not have to
be held captive to shame at the hands of our enemy any longer.
With Christ we are spotless, clean and pure without blemish. Let His
grace be enough for you today as you trust Him to work all things
for His good." Grace Kern, director of Word-of-Hope, LFL's postabortion
ministry (888-217-8679) This "Life Quote" is from Lutherans
For Life - www.lutheransforlife.org.

LSF News:

Potluck Today: Students, you are our guests for our last potluck of the
year. Enjoy the food and fellowship as we gather for one last meal this
school year. Congregation members will be providing the food.

Students, Will You Be Around This Summer? If so, please let Tim
Gamble (amlman@mchsi.com) or Pastor Wegener [prwegener@cfu.net]
know. We want to include you in whatever activities might end up
happening over the summer months. Just because school is out doesn't
mean the fellowship has to stop.

Wednesday join us for an ice cream social at 7:00 p.m. Enjoy an evening
with your friends before everyone leaves for the summer.

Students meet Pastor Wegener at Maucker Union near Essentials at
noon on Thursdays for Table Talk. Pastor will bring the food. This will be
the last Table Talk for the school year. See you again in the fall.

Best wishes to our graduating seniors and to those who will be student
teaching or on internships in the fall. And we look forward to everyone
else's return in August!
