because of it.

Stewardship Thought Hebrews 5:1-10: This passage of Scripture
reminds us Christian stewards that we are at the very same time saints
and sinners. As such we thank God for declaring us saved through
Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit we are equipped to better
manage all of life and life's resources for God's purposes.
In Sunday School today: The Sunday School lesson today focused on
"Jesus and Zacchaeus." Like Zacchaeus, we are among the lost
whom the Son of Man seeks and forgives. We are called to forgive
those who sin against us, no matter how Zacchaeus-like they may be
in their sins. Parents might ask, "How does Jesus seek you? How has
God forgiven you?"

Outreach: Mark 10:35-45: The words of this Gospel reading tell us
clearly that greatness in the kingdom of God belongs to those who
are servants of the Gospel. We are served by Jesus and serve by
sharing the good news of Jesus.
Building Healthy Families: Listen to the news on any given evening
and you will be inundated with accounts of terrible things that are
happening, both here in Iowa and around the world. It's easy to feel
hopeless and overwhelmed. This week, commit Jesus' words to
memory and recall them whenever you hear bad news: "I have told
you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you
will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John
16:33) Lutheran Family Service of Iowa 800-622-7285
