Stewardship Thought James 1:12-18: Temptations come in all forms
and when we fall prey to temptations it leads to sin. As Christian
stewards we are tempted by the lure of physical and material things,
but our focus needs to stay on God who showers good gifts and
perfect presents upon us.
The March Newsletters are available for you to pick up today. They
are on the table in the gathering area. Be sure to pick up yours, as
well as one of someone who isn't here that day so that you can
deliver it to them this week.
In Sunday School today: As we begin the season of Lent, the Sunday
School students studied the account "Jesus Calms a Storm." Just as
Jesus calmed the storm with His Word for the frightened disciples, so
He calms and ends the storm of sin and death by taking our sin upon
Himself and dying in our place so we may live eternally. Consider
discussing, "What did Jesus do to calm the storm? How does Jesus
calm the storms in our life?"
Building Healthy Families: Whether you are an office worker, a
business executive, a homemaker or a farmer, you likely have goals
for your work. You probably have specific, intentional ideas about
what you will do during the coming year to make your work succeed.
Why not apply this excellent thinking and planning to the success of
your marriage and/or family? This week, pray, think and talk about
your plan for ensuring "success" in your relationships. What will be your
intentional plan to strengthen and improve your relationships in 2009?

Outreach Mark 9:2-9: Mark 1:9-15: Mark records that Jesus went to
Galilee and preached the good news from God. The Gospel call is
clear: The kingdom of God is near: repent and believe the good
news of Jesus. May God bless us with a sense of urgency for sharing
this good news of Jesus.
