Woman to Woman can be heard Sundays at 7:00 a.m. on KXEL, Waterloo
1540AM. The message for next Sunday is "Crucial Mother-Daughter
Conversations." Teen-savvy mom Vicki Courtney offers sharp insights in
her new book, 5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Daughter.
Founder of Virtuous Reality Ministries, Vicki shares creative ways to relate
to your teen, so you both get to the other side in one piece.

You have two opportunities to worship with us during the midweek
Lenten season starting Ash Wednesday, February 25. Matins will be
held at 11:00 a.m. and Vespers at 7:00 p.m.

Mark your calendar for Friday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m. and join us for
game night. Bring your favorite game and snacks to share.

Stewardship Thought: 2 Corinthians 3:12-13; 4:1-6: God's redeemed
stewards strive to do all they can to point people to Christ. They do
this through their personal actions as well as by their generous
financial gifts to support of the mission and ministry of Christ's church.

In Sunday School today: On this Sunday, the students have studied
the story of "The Transfiguration." In the Transfiguration, we see Jesus
as the pure and holy Son of God, whose perfect righteousness is given
to us through God's Word and Sacraments. Parents could ask, "What
did Jesus reveal to His disciples about Himself in the Transfiguration?
What does God's Word reveal to us about Jesus?"

Building Healthy Families: Research indicates that families who eat
meals together have better communication and higher levels of
satisfaction in their family relationships. It's your job as a parent to
protect this important family time and not allow distractions to creep
in. Consider making your family's dinner table a "tech and electronics
free zone." This means no TV watching, no ipod listening, no cell
phone talking and no texting during dinner. The new dinner rule
which applies to all electronics: Turn them off and tune in to each

Outreach Mark 9:2-9: Peter, James and John were privileged to see
Jesus in blinding and dazzling splendor as the Son of God. That was
an experience they would never forget or stop sharing with others.
We have also seen the light of Jesus and experienced His power in our
lives. May we never forget that truth or stop sharing it with others.

Our Redeemer Lutheran Preschool, Cedar Falls, is currently taking
registrations for enrollment for the 2009-2010 school year. They offer a
developmentally appropriate curriculum and Bible-centered activities
for children ages three, four and five years old. Children must be 3
before September 15 to be eligible. For more information and/or to
register please contact Andrea Wanner, Director/Teacher at 266-
2320.

The March Newsletters will be available for you to pick up Ash
Wednesday. They will be found on the table in the gathering area. Be
sure to pick up yours, as well as one of someone who isn't here that
day so that you can deliver it to them this week.

LSF News:

JOIN THE LISTSERV TODAY! Stay informed on upcoming events and
receive Pastor Wegener's weekly note "Christ on Campus" by joining our
email list. Simply send an email to Tim Gamble at amlman@mchsi.com and
he will respond with the instructions.

Wednesday join us for Ash Wednesday Divine Service at 7:00 p.m. If you
would prefer to attend during the day, the Divine Service will also be held at
11:00 a.m. Choir practice will follow the 7:00 p.m. Divine Service. LSF Bible
study will begin at 8:00 p.m.

Students meet Pastor Wegener at Maucker Union near Essentials at noon
on Thursdays for Table Talk. Pastor will bring the food.

Young Adult Women's Bible Study meets Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Applications are due today! If you are interested in applying to serve as a
Peer Minister or as a Resident Caretaker for CHLC for the 2009-2010
academic year, pick up an application from table in the gathering area.

Trip to Iowa City! Pastor Wegener will drive the van to St. Paul's Lutheran
Chapel in Iowa City the evening of Friday, February 27th. We will leave at
6:00 p.m. and hope to arrive around 7:30 p.m. at the chapel. The students
there are looking forward to hosting you and have fun and food planned for
the evening. You will need to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, and
towel. The highlight of the weekend will be the guest presenter on Saturday.
He is Rev. Daniel Preus. He will be speaking about American Evangelicalism
and the challenges that Lutheran Churches are facing with this theology. The
cost of the trip is entirely FREE for you. The day will conclude around
3:30 p.m. and we should be able to be back in Cedar Falls by 5:30 p.m.
Saturday evening. If you are interested, there is a sign up sheet on the bulletin
board. Please sign up as soon as possible to make sure we can reserve places
for you to stay.
