available for you to take home. Get your copy of Portals of Prayer, IDE
Today, Sharing and the 2008 Advent Devotions from LAMP.

Advent is a time of preparation. To that end, CHLC is offering additional
worship opportunities so you may prepare your heart and mind for the
celebration of our Lord's coming. Join us for Vespers on December 10 &
17. Stay for fellowship with cookies, coffee and hot chocolate after
Vespers.

Today in Sunday School: As we observe this Second Sunday in Advent,
Sunday School students studied the story "An Angel Visits Mary." In the
womb of Mary, Jesus, the Son of God, became a man so that we sinful
people might become adopted children of God and share in the
inheritance of heaven. Parents might ask, "How does God make us His
children? What do we inherit as God's children?"

End of the semester potluck. Another semester is quickly passing by. We
join together as family and friends for a potluck meal next Sunday,
December 14, following worship. Single members are asked to bring one
dish to share. Families and couples are asked to bring two dishes to share.

Pastor and Heidi invite you to their home on next Sunday, December 14
from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Come check out Pastor's lights and enjoy some
delicious Christmas cookies and delicacies. Hope to see you there.
Join us Friday for Game Night starting at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday School Christmas Program practice this Saturday. We will be
practicing our program at 10:00 a.m. The practice will last approximately
1 hour. After practice any children that would like to help make props are
invited to stay. We will spend about 30-45 minutes, depending on how
many stay, painting and gluing. Make sure your child is dressed for this
activity.

Adopt a Family: Every year the congregation of College Hill adopts a
family for Christmas. A Christmas tree has been placed in the fellowship
hall and will have ornaments with tags attached to them with a
Christmas gift wish. Pick an ornament and purchase the gift listed. Please
attach the tag to the package and place it under the Christmas Tree.
Non perishable food items, laundry items and paper products will also be
gathered in a basket. Your gifts must be delivered to the church no later
than Sunday, December 21. In past years your generosity has been
overwhelming and very much appreciated.

LSF News:

Young Adult Women's Bible Study meets tonight at 4:30 p.m. Please note
time change.

Wednesday join us for Advent Vespers at 7:00 p.m., fellowship at 8:00 p.m.
and LSF Bible Study at 8:15 p.m.

Students meet Pastor Wegener at Maucker Union near Essentials at noon
on Thursdays for Table Talk. Pastor will bring the food.

The tradition continues on Friday, December 12 beginning at 6:00 p.m.
we will decorate cookies and play a Christmas gift game among other fun
activities. Please come and bring a friend for the fun! You will not need to
bring any gifts-they will be provided.

Students, come and be the guests of the congregation next Sunday,
December 14, for an end of semester meal. Join your family and friends
at CHLC as we celebrate the end of another academic semester. We will
enjoy fellowship over a potluck meal following worship. Share in the
joy of the season as we share a meal together.
