News:

Christmas Potluck: Today we enjoy fellowship over a potluck meal
following worship. Be our guests and stay for this wonderful meal.
Advent is a time of preparation. To that end, CHLC is offering additional
worship opportunities so you may prepare your heart and mind for the
celebration of our Lord's coming. Join us for Vespers on December 17.
Stay for fellowship with cookies, coffee and hot chocolate after Vespers.

Today in Sunday School we studied "An Angel Visits Joseph." Just as the
angel proclaimed to Joseph that Mary would bear an infant who is the
Son of God, the Savior, so God proclaimed to us in His Word that this
same Jesus is our Savior from sin and death. Parents could ask, "What
important message did the angel give Joseph? What important message
do we hear in God's Word?"

check out Pastor's lights and enjoy some delicious Christmas cookies and

Sunday School Christmas Program practice this Saturday. We will be
practicing our program at 10:00 a.m. The practice will last approximately
1 hour.

Please join us for our Children's Christmas Program "Jesus, Our Bright
Morning Star." It will be held next Sunday, December 21, at 4:00 p.m. We
invite everyone to join us as the children of the congregation shine like
stars as they celebrate Jesus' birth. The service will be followed by a Soup
Supper and Birthday Cake.

Adopt a Family: Every year the congregation of College Hill adopts a
family for Christmas. A Christmas tree has been placed in the fellowship
hall and has ornaments with tags attached to them with a Christmas gift
wish. Pick an ornament and purchase the gift listed. Please attach the
tag to the package and place it under the Christmas Tree. Non
perishable food items, laundry items and paper products will also be
gathered in a basket. Your gifts must be delivered to the church no later
than next Sunday, December 21. In past years your generosity has been
overwhelming and very much appreciated.

The Lutheran Hour is broadcast weekly and may be heard on Sundays.
The Lutheran Hour message for next Sunday is "Bah, Humbug" Speaker:
Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus. Many popular Christmas stories don't really tell the
Christmas story. (Luke 1:11)

Check the table in the gathering area. New publications are now
available for you to take home. Get your copy of Portals of Prayer, IDE
Today, Sharing and the 2008 Advent Devotions from LAMP.

LSF News:

Stay and be the guests of the congregation today for the End of
Semester/Christmas meal. Share in the joy of the season as we share a meal
together.

Young Adult Women's Bible Study meets tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday join us for Advent Vespers at 7:00 p.m., fellowship at 8:00 p.m.
and LSF De-stressors at 8:15 p.m.

Following the Advent Service on Wednesday you are welcome to enjoy
some snacks and games in the lower level of the Brammer Student Center as
a break from all the studying. If you are done with all your studies then you
are welcome to party with great joy and celebration!

Students meet Pastor Wegener at Maucker Union near Essentials at noon
on Thursdays for Table Talk. Pastor will bring the food.
