News:

Pastor Wegener will be out of office from July 25-30. During that time you may contact Rev. Poock at 232-5789 for pastoral needs.

The office secretary will be on vacation from July 26 until August 12. She will return on August 13. With Pastor and Sylvia both gone the office will be closed July 26-30 and August 3 & 10.

Vacation Bible School: VBS is scheduled for August 6-10 from 9 a.m. to noon. In order to have enough materials for VBS please let us know who is coming, their address and their grade in school. There is a sign up sheet on the table in the gathering area.

Building Healthy Families: Declare a special holiday this week for you and your family to celebrate. Be creative! Maybe it's the "Smith Family Grand Relaxation Celebration" or "Freedom from Boredom Day at the Johnson's House." Name it, and then fill it with fun activities that carry out the theme. Dr. Ken Klaus. There's nothing wrong with having lots of money and stuff, so long as these things do not displace God from your heart. Earthly riches are no substitute for having a rich relationship with your Savior. (Luke 12:15)

Outreach Idea: In the Lord's Prayer we ask that God's kingdom would come. Dr. Martin Luther explains the meaning to this petition in this way: "The kingdom of God comes indeed without our prayer, of itself; but we pray in this petition that it may come unto us also." By God's grace the kingdom of God has come to us, and now we are privileged to share the good news of Jesus so that others may also be brought into His kingdom.

Stewardship Thought: By God's grace we join the Colossian Christians in living fruitful lives as His stewards. Because God's Holy Spirit is alive and active in us we say and do those things that bring glory to our God and blessings to those whose lives we touch— and we do it all with thankful hearts!

August Newsletters are available for you to pick up today. They can be found on the table in the gathering area. Be sure to pick up yours, as well as one of someone who isn't here this morning so that you can deliver it to them this week.

PRAYER OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE WEEK OE JULY 29, 2007
Please take this home with you and put it where you will be reminded daily of the prayer opportunities for our church. This week they are:
1. Pray that the gospel spreads and reaches the lost.
2. Pray the Lord's help in being a good and faithful steward of the blessings He has bestowed upon you.
3. Pray for the Lord's healing strength for our shut'ins including Marian Eire-line, Rosalie Boone, and Lucinda Peters, for Josh the acquaintance of Paul Schmellik who had surgery this past week, for the father of Laura Zayas and others who are ill or in any need.
4. Pray for faithfulness to the end; for the renewal of those who are withering in the faith or have fallen away; for receptive hearts and minds to God's Word on the Lord's Day; for pastors and people as they prepare to administer and receive Christ's holy gifts.
5. Pray the Lord's blessing upon missionaries Rev. Joel & lantha Scheiwe, as they serves in Asia.
Pray at all times with every kind of spiritual prayer keeping alert and persistent as you pray for all Christ's men and women." (Ephesians 6:18)
