Lithuanian Mission Project: At the October voters' meeting a motion
was made to set a goal of $5,500, to pay for Sunday school and choir
room interior walls at the mission project. The motion also
recommended that CHLC match dollar for dollar from the general
fund. This motion carried. To date we have collected $2,125.74. To
meet this goal we are having a mission drive on November 8 and 15.
We need to raise $625 to meet our goal. Please help by giving to this
worthy cause. Mark your gift as Mission-Lithuanian Project.
Food and Fellowship Galore...at the annual CHLC Thanksgiving

Do you have any old sweaters that you don't wear anymore? Bring
them to College Hill for a great cause! Student Kristen Granzow is
working on a project to support the fight against breast cancer.
Simply bring your sweater(s) to the church and place them downstairs
in the Brammer Student Center for Kristen to pick up. Please include a
note with her name on it so she knows it is for her project. Thank you!
Building Healthy Families: Note for divorced parents: keep your
children out of the middle of your problems. Children frequently share
that being caught in the middle of their mom and dad's ongoing
anger is one of the most difficult things they have to cope with after a
break-up. Here are 3 "never ever" rules to live by: Never ever ask
them to carry messages between parents ("Tell your dad I need to
pick you up early."); Never ever involve them in disputes about
money ("Ask your mother to pay for it - that's what child support is
for!"); Never ever criticize the other parent, even if it's true ("Your
mother is never happy."); Never ever quiz your child about what the
other parent is doing. Family Service of Iowa 800-622-7285
Stewardship Thought: Hebrews 10:11-25: This Epistle reading
encourages us to spur each other on toward love and good deeds
while meeting together regularly, especially in worship, for mutual
encouragement as we look forward to our Lord's coming again in
power and glory to gather His saints and bring us all into the
everlasting bliss of heaven.
Outreach: Mark 13:1-13: Jesus encouraged His disciples to pay
attention to the signs of the times because they are indicators of the
end of time in this world and the beginning of a glorious time in
heaven for those who believe in Jesus as Savior and Lord. Each day
we come closer to the end of the world. That should provide
encouragement for us to be prepared for our Lord's return and be
ready to share the hope that is within us and to do it with gentleness
and respect (1 Peter 3:15.
